exciting stuff...

This post is all about some exciting things happening around here.

Number one- this is my 700th post!
How amazing is that?

Secondly look what arrived in the mail yesterday

My new DSLR camera.
I have wanted one for what seems like forever!
We have a very expensive SLR camera sitting in our cupboard that has not been used for probably 6 or 7 years now!
But now we will be up and running with this little beauty, as soon as I work out how to use it properly!

Thirdly was a stool I picked up at the dump- yep I have been dump shopping again!

VCH said it was the ugliest thing he has ever seen when he first laid eyes on it.
I said, "Just wait until I am finished with it!"
I have been after a stool to go at my back door for what seems like forever,
but I could never find one that was in my price range,
wasn't too long,
or that I didn't have to leave a couple of kids by the side of the road in order to fit it into the tarago
- just as well I only had B4 with me!
While it is not the most perfect one for five bucks it was a steal.

We took off the funny, ugly rotten pieces on the bottom,

 sanded and painted her up

Look at her now!
I might get VCH to mitre the corners off that front board at some stage,
but for now it is just right.

School holidays and lots of exciting projects in the making!
My three big boys went off to Ag Camp yesterday,
thankfully they arrived safely with B1 driving,
not back until Monday.
Op shopping with a girlfriend to a neighbouring town today,
lots of fun!

How are you enjoying your holidays?

  1. Yes to the camera. I'm getting one soon too so I'd love any tips once you get on top of that.

Love the bench. They are tops for a back door, shoe removal type area or even at the end of a bed.

Glad the kiddos arrived safely. I bet you held your breath on that one. Hope they have a great time.

  4. Love the stool. I'd love a camera but I just don't have the time or brain power to learn how to use one just at the moment, so my little automatic will have to do. Maybe you can give us some tips when you've got it worked out.

  6. Cute little bench Deanne :) That's wonderful news about the camera too! When I got mine for Christmas last year it was real learning curve (still learning!) but totally worth it. Have fun!

    1. Thankfully I have some experience with an SLR, so hopefully a digital SLR is not any harder
