I have been busy finishing off, organising and decorating my sewing room.
I covered my baskets
well actually I cheated and only covered the front that you can see,
(this involved some cutting and gluing with my trusty glue gun)
(this involved some cutting and gluing with my trusty glue gun)
and labelled them.
I bought these old fashioned luggage tags at the newsagent - 20cents for 4.
I just wrote on them
and tied them on with string.
I sorted and labeled the little drawers too, using my label maker.
My sewing machine and
overlocker (Australian for serger) are all ready to get busy
I am very happy with the result and I now know where everything lives!
No more pulling out all the baskets and boxes just to find something I need!
I have some other details of my sewing room coming soon!

Thank you for sharing your adorable space and hope the winter dresses are charming. Count me in for the fan club for the polka dotted chairs!
ReplyDeleteLove where you sew and serg! Where did you get your little white bookshelves? And what kind of Plank did you use to go over those three shelves? I really think I could use something like these!
ReplyDeleteMy VCH made all the shelves and the desk sewing table.
DeleteHe used what we call in Australia white melamine to make the shelves, I am not sure what they call it in the US.
If you don't mind my asking, what are the dimensions of your shelves and tabletop? I would love to build something like this for my craft/sewing room!
DeleteWhat a beautiful room and inspiring space to work!

DeleteThis is so cute! I love how you built the desk, covered the baskets and painted the chairs. Very creative, and I can see how it makes you feel creative, too. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh I love how you use ordinary storage boxes and turned them into shelves. You are quite a craftsman are you? I’m at Ashfield and I have loads of storage boxes, the plastic type that I’m planning to build something out of. I’m thinking of mounting them on my garage walls to be used as a sort of a floating shelf but that might crack the plastic if the weight they carry is too heavy. So I decided to simply build floating shelves around the perimeter of the garage and now I feel happy with all the extra space on the floor.
