apron love

When The Girl was two she got a play kitchen for her birthday and I made her some little aprons to go with it.
Now three years later she is constantly wanting to help in the kitchen and the little aprons I made her are no longer up to scratch, other than being too small they were only half aprons so they won't do anything to protect her clothes.
So on Monday I had a lovely time in my new sewing room sewing- it is the first time I have actually got to sew in my room, not just mending.
I whipped up these two cute little aprons.

The first one was simple and practical.
Pink cupcake fabric and aqua polka dots.

I added some cute little pom pom trim to the pocket.

Here is The Girl modelling it after her birthday breakfast.

The second one is a cherry fabric that I used to make a little dress for her a couple of years ago,
I trimmed it with some red and white ruffles.
When I was young and my Mum made ruffles I always had to do the gathering for her, but I think this is the first time I have actually made ruffles for myself and the first time I have had to sew them onto something.
I love how they turned out!

The Girl loves them too!
Here she is ready for action.
