We ended up using pine tongue and groove boards for the cladding and the cost was much less, we just need to make sure it is well primed before painting.
Ready for the roof
The front sections boarded
The roof's on.
VCH painting the primer on.
He got up early and finished priming
The slaves oops I mean children painting the decking this morning supposedly before it got too hot, but we were all covered in sweat by the time we were finished and it was before 9am.
We will go and do a second coat on the floor when the shade is on it this afternoon and I might even prime the inside.
We plan to build a day bed and two cupboards/ side tables along the back wall.
The seat on the day bed will lift up for storage of pool toys noodles etc and the side tables towels and other stuff.
It's coming along so quickly I am hoping to get it finished before my birthday (13th Feb) - maybe I should have a pool party!
woohoo looking good! love the last shot of the cutie in the aussie sun hat ;-)

I can't tell you how much I wish I was at your house today! Swimming in February, too hot to paint, after today, I would take it! Here in Virginia it was 39 degrees, and breezy, and now it is raining, and 30 degrees (night). I cannot wait until spring and summer. Though, I know that when August comes I will be complaining about the heat and humidity. :)Never content I know. Your cabana is coming along beautifully! I love how you let all the kids help, most people would not do that. Its great to see a family working together!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful! I love the picture where you can see the cabana and its reflection in the water. Can't wait to see it all fixed up with your great outdoor furniture in it. Lisa~
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I hope you'll post pictures when it's completed.
ReplyDeleteGreat work. VCH is a man of action. I'm sure your pool is having lots of use this week with the heat.
