On the first Sunday in September we celebrate Father's Day here in Australia.
A little home made gift always wins dad's heart so this year we made one out of this.
This little wooden box was made by my dad when he was a small boy and given to his father.
My grandfather had it on his desk and used it to hold paper clips etc. in it.
My aunt gave it to me a few years ago and at times we have used it for sorting or holding nature displays.
It has six compartments which makes it perfect for six kids.
I added a photo of each child.
I had thought of adding a little something in each compartment that told a story of our children and their dad, golf, fishing, soccer, gardening, building etc. but it didn't quite look right and I couldn't find all the stuff I needed.
Then I came across some chipboard letters in my cupboard, but what to write that only took up six spaces?
no. 1 DAD
I just put some hot glue in the middle of each compartment and stuck on the letter.
He was thrilled!
Awww super sweet and very creative!
