friday favourites-pinterest

Today I thought I would talk about one of my favourite online places pinterest.
What did we do before pinterest came into our lives?
This is how I pinterest if I have a spare 1/2 hour or so to spare and feel like some pinning action.
I usually click on my pinterest bookmark and just have a scroll down the everything page that comes up.
I pin anything I like onto one of my boards.
If I see a recipe I will usually open the board in a new tab and then the recipe in a new tab and then see if it is something that I would make ie without weird ingredients like marshmallow creme or lemonade concentrate- things you can't find here in Australia and even if you could I wouldn't use them!
Then If I like that recipe I will pin it.
In the meantime I will scroll through the pinners board and see if they have any other good pins and do the same with them.
I might also do the same to some home education activities or handy hints.
Other things like furniture or gardens or clothes I will usually just pin.
I have started to follow some of the people I follow on blogs on pinterest - which is fun to see their interests and what they have been up to.
I often need to get on pinterest to find something I pinned- I will always open my boards in a new tab so I can still have a scroll though the everything page - I have found so many great things here that I would never have specifically searched for.
I have made so many things or been inspired by so many things on pinterest - I don't know what I would do without it?
Here is a small sample of some pins that I have used

 beautiful
I did something like this in my bedroom.

 Hairstyles for little girls
I did this to The Girl's hair

freshen your home lemon rosemary, vanilla
This is great when I feel my home needs freshening up.

Even better background - a map
I used this for inspiration in B2's bedroom

My bathtub has never been whiter!! Works great on glass shower doors too- no more soap residue!

Martha Stewart's Tub Scrub--works better than any other cleaning product to get off hard water and soap residue
This is now our favourite cleaner of all time

Strawberry Ice cream 01
I plan to make this on the weekend for our ice cream sundaes
Strawberries are on special at Coles this week $1.90 for a punnet!

If I see something on the net that I would like to make or inspires me in some way I pin it straight away so as not to loose it, it is so great to go back and have a look through my boards and be inspired all over again!

It is always exciting to find something that I have created pinned.
I always give a little squeal of delight that someone liked it enough to pin it!

So how do you pinterest?

  1. I love your ideas for Pintrest as an organisation tool! I repin but not with any real purpose, as much as I love looking at all the beautiful images, I always feel like it's a bit of a time waster. From now on I will pin with purpose - thanks for the tip :)

  2. That bookcase sure is inspiring! I don't pin myself, I just look at others' pin boards. I've heard the copyright infringement law is pretty scary and don't want to mess myself up with it, but I do enjoy looking at what others find interesting! I also truly do love my magazines and revisit them often. I have a binder of favorite pages that I had to start to cut down on my mag collection, and I love my binder, too!
