Remember when I made this?
It's a copy of a copy of a Pottery Barn one, now of course we don't even have Pottery Barn here in Australia, and I really have no idea what it's all about, but anyway I liked this and thought I would make one.
I made it silver to match my Christmas colours but it wasn't quite right, it lacked some depth or something,
So I took it and rubbed on some black paint and then rubbed it off again and smoothed it out with a touch of sanding.
This is what it looks like now.
I think it gives it a more aged metal look.
Here it is up on the lounge room wall, but it didn't like it here so it came down, literally.
So I still have to find a home for it, but it is having fun floating from place to place.
Oh, I love this! I am with you - I don't get Pottery Barn, but I sure do love all the inspiration that comes from there :-)
ReplyDeleteThis does have more depth aftr the black rubbing, and has a gorgeous aged metal look about it!!

What a great Noel. It looks fabulous and I agree that the addition of a little antiquing really helped it
ReplyDeleteLove your bedroom. You would die if you saw mine, it is wrapping central right now and I am tired of the mess! Maybe another year I will wrap somewhere else, but now I can lock the doors and keep it as secret as possible.
Love the aged look.
ReplyDeleteHi Deanne...
ReplyDeleteOooh...your NOEL sign came out sooo pretty, my friend! I have also admired that pretty sign at Pottery Barn. I think that adding the black to it really did the trick...love it! Just wanted to let you know that I meandered around your blog a bit. Your home looks sooo pretty all dressed up for Christmas! Thank you for sharing it with us!
I also wanted to thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my Christmas dining room! I really enjoyed your visit and sweet note, my friend! Thank you!
