our creek

For some reason we seem to be running out of our internet usage each month, I am sure every time you increase the amount of gigabytes the quicker it runs out, we are on satellite because we live out in the bush.
Anyway on Wednesday last week the internet was so slow I knew there was no point in the little ones even trying to do any of their schoolwork online.
They have a maths and reading program that they do.
The day before it took B5 an hour and a half to do something that should have taken 20 minutes because it was so slow in loading.
So I thought we should have an alternate school day and took them out for a nature ramble.
After a walk around our paddocks to see what was growing they requested to go over to the creek, which is just across the road from our house, so off we went.

B4 went for an explore up to the rocks

then came back and got the others to go with him.
I was a little reluctant about letting my baby go when I remembered that some of the older ones would have been her age when they first went up there.

They discovered a little cave in the rocks and B5 climbed in

exploring the banks

B5 has discovered something in the water

We used to spend quite a bit of time over at the creek when the older ones were younger but haven't gone over much in recent years.
It has rained so consistently in the last couple of years that the creek is always muddy and not suitable for swimming and as you can see from the browness all around the banks still haven't recovered from the January floods.

  2. Too bad about your net connection but it looks like you and the kiddos had a great time with the alternative. Thanks for dropping by and sharing at Beach Cottage Good Life Wednesdays.
