sewing room wall

Just a quick post on how the wall in my sewing room is coming along.
It's a little different from last week,

when I showed you my clock.

I ended up painting the letters,
I was debating about covering them with fabric but in the end I decided that they might end up getting lost in amongst all the patterns or it all looking a bit too much so decided to just paint them instead.
I chose red because the main colours I am working with are pink, aqua and red and
as I painted the chairs aqua and pink I thought it would even it up a bit if I used the red and as  most of the fabrics on display have a bit of red in them that it would work.

I have added a couple of more hoops and I am really liking the look!

What do you think?

I have been doing a little girly sewing that I will share with you soon!

  1. I think you made the right decision to paint the letters. They look really pretty and stand out like they are now. A pattern would have been too much. Your style is very pretty, and I love seeing all your cute decor. Thanks for linking up to Your Cozy Home Party!

  3. wow! this is too cute- love the fabric hoops and the clock. I never would have thought to recover a clock face with fabric.

Thanks for stopping by my blog- I have a thing for maps, too!

  5. Looking good Deanne. The hoops enhance the clock, making a wall feature of it.

  6. Nice, I like the way the clock is in a different shade to the hoops, makes it stand out more. I do particularly like your painted chairs though. Would I be a good friend or a bad friend if I told you that it looks like your 'E' was upside down? I don't know how you have time to do all these crafty things. I'm flat out just trying to keep up with the non-negotiables.

    1. Thanks, The E looked wrong the other way too- I tried both! But I will look into it.
I do lots in the school holidays, and I have big kids that help with the household chores that frees me up too!
