sentimental saturday- in the kitchen

It is a rainy day here today, I have some sort of virus so am not feeling the best, but it is a perfect day for a bit of cooking, so I thought I might share with you a few recipes from in the archives.
These were all written before we were gluten free so I will  add some gluten free alternative suggestions.

Click on the photos for the links to the original post.

 Roasted pumpkin soup
For the scones substitute gluten free flour or make chebe bread instead

Coriander (cilantro) and Macadamia Nut Pesto
Use gluten free spaghetti

Apple Pie
I have found it is easy to adapt to gluten free just by substituting in gluten free flour in the pastry.

I just realised that you have a complete three course meal.
Entree, main and dessert.
Enjoy!

I have never tried pumpkin soup, but the more I hear about it on the web, the more I believe I will give it a go and see how my family responses to this new (new to us) dish. I am in love with your kitchen art. What a marvelous idea! I am your newest follower #154. I'm a retired activity director at an assisted living building. It was my job for many years to do crafts, play games, give parties, bring entertainment and do anything and all things to makes these dear folks enjoy their golden years. Now, I'm approaching mine, LOL. I hope someday there will be someone out there that wants to play with me and throw me a party. I've been strolling through some of your past posts and when I'm done typing this I plan on going through some more. You have created a beautiful site.
