shades of grey

Stage one I painted them in ombre greys
The darker one is the house trim and the bottom one is the house colour and the middle is a mixture of both.
I debated long and hard whether to go from lighter to darker or from darker to lighter.
In the end darker to lighter won- simply because I had more dark paint than light left  in the sample pots I was using.

Then I decided to distress them so you can see some of the original colour through
- if I had been a bit brighter I might have thought to paint them white first so two colours came through.
 Then I drew on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

I debated about doing a big 1,2,3 right in the middle, but thought this was a little more subtle.

VCH wonders why I keep numbering stuff- MEN!!!

Here is a side on view
What do you think?

I really don't have any use for them so am thinking of selling them.
I really love them and I am now on the look out for some more to do up and sell at a little market stall sometime- well I can dream!

  13. I think nesting tables are great! All those table in such little space...genius. Yours turned out so lovely. I think the numbers in the corner add such a perfect little oomph to the tables giving them a cool vintage vibe. I live in a house full of men & also get asked why I number everything. I always tell them "Because numbers can make anything cool!" You can NEVER have too many things numbered! So glad I found your blog through Cassie's POWW.
