This is a quick little makeover project that I whipped up one day, a few months back but forgot to show you.
I found this trivet at an op shop and thought it was cute, but it needed something to bring it from the 70's into 2011- so first I sanded it lightly - you can see I had started sanding in the photo.
I painted the apple with white paint and sanded it back, I painted the leaves with chalk board paint, and this is the beauty of this little project,
it means I can write on the leaves what the dish is and then people know what is in it - great for parties!
I would use this little piece just about everyday for putting hot dishes on the table for serving, although I don't write what's in it for everyday use, just for special occasions.
