new frames....

Now that we have our new lounge and are going for a more neutral/white look in our lounge room I thought I should update some of our picture frames.

This was a professional photo taken way back when we only had 2 small children with money that VCH's grandmother gave us when B2 was born. 12 years or so ago I framed it in a frame I already had and painted it blue with a blue mat.

This is what it looks like now- same frame and mat, just painted black and white respectively.

I might have to update these frames as well!
I will probably move these to the hallway when I get to do what I want to in there.

I also took this drawing of a chameleon that B2 did as a 9 year old and after asking his permission repainted the frame.
I know I have an original photo of this which is why I didn't bother taking a before shot- but it must be prior to this computer, when I find it I will put it into this post, anyway it was a very similar blue to the other one.
Because it was professionally framed I didn't want to fiddle with the frame too much so I just taped around the edge on the glass and painted away.
First I painted the frame white and then while the paint was still wet I painted on the black giving it a washed grey look.

Not sure of the colour - not sure whether to just go black or leave it grey?
Not sure where it is going to hang yet either- maybe where the other photo is now when I hang the others in the hall.

All in all I was pleased with my easy no cost updates!

  1. Wow! What a difference a new coat of paint makes! The photo looks so much better set with white and black.
Can you hold/blu tac some black cardboard around the framed drawing to see how it looks. You don't want to overwhelm the art work.
